From idea to technical solution: a collaborative approach

September 2025

At Gi Di Meccanica, every project develops through a clear, shared and structured process. We work side by side with the customer, providing engineering expertise, advanced tools and a flexible approach to create tailor-made, reliable and market-ready mechanical solutions.

The development method followed by the BU Sport can be summarised as follows:

1. Co-design
It all starts with direct dialogue. In this initial phase, we involve the customer in defining the project, listening to their technical and functional requirements. Using our know-how and with the support of 3D design tools, our engineers develop customised solutions that are already optimised in terms of feasibility, cost and performance.

2. Project development and F.E.M. analysis
We go into technical detail, combining mechanical design and advanced simulation. F.E.M. (Finite Element Method) analysis allows us to predict the behaviour of the component under stress, identify any critical issues and act in advance, optimising geometries and materials even before production.

3. Prototyping
Once the digital design has been validated, we create functional and aesthetic prototypes. We use pilot equipment, mechanical processing (CNC, electro erosion, laser, etc.) and 3D printing to provide the customer with a physical version of the product.

4. Testing
We subject prototypes to specific tests in our Testing Laboratory, where we carry out resistance, durability and life cycle tests.

5. Production
Once the validation phase is completed, we move on to production. Thanks to our internal structure and collaboration with selected suppliers, we efficiently and flexibly manage a wide range of mechanical processes, adapting to different volumes and requirements of the target sector.

6. Finishing and assembly
Finally, we complete each product with the utmost attention to detail. In Romania, the group company Gi Di Manufacturing carries out surface finishing and assembly according to the technical specifications defined during the design phase.

Each of these stages is the result of experience, method and shared vision.

This is why we do not consider ourselves just suppliers, but rather development partners: committed, reliable and solution-oriented.
